On Monday 21 August 2017 Deaf Services hosted the largest Ageing Well Expo to date, delivering important information to Deaf and hard of hearing seniors.

The Ageing Well Expo was held during Queensland Seniors Week, and was an opportunity for Deaf and hard of hearing seniors from across South East Queensland to meet, catch up with old friends, and learn important information from a range of service providers.

The Expo focused on providing attendees with information that will help them lead more active and healthy lives. Over 80 people attended the Expo at the Mary Mac Community Centre in Annerley, including groups from both the Sunshine and Gold Coasts, who were provided complimentary travel to the event.

Attendees were also provided with written materials and videos in Auslan which they could take home and watch whenever they felt they needed to be reminded of the presentations.

Deaf Services would like to thank everyone who joined us for the Expo, including all of the presenters and exhibitors. We would also like to thank the Deaf Lottery, without whose support this event would not have been possible.
