From our beginnings as the Queensland Adult Deaf and Dumb Mission in 1902, our organisation has seen a lot of change.

The next stage of our organisation reflects our growth, the expansion of services and the changes to the way we do business under the NDIS.

During 2017-18 we have been consulting with our community, staff and other key stakeholders to discuss how the next stage of Deaf Services Queensland will take shape.

From this feedback it was clear that the most import aspects in the evolution of our organisation and our brand is:

  1. Our acknowledgement of our history, the work of the Deaf community in the past and our recognisable brand.

  2. The importance of our community and our proud Deaf culture, and;

  3. Maintaining our vision of "Individuals and the Community Empowered, Connected and Achieving".

We are proud to announce that we have officially made a simple, but important change in our brand, which includes our name. From August 8 2018 we have transitioned to a new brand, logo and aesthetic that will carry us forward alongside our new name: Deaf Services.
