Deaf Services held the organisation's first ever Deaf Art Show during National Week of Deaf People, 2017.

The Art Show was an opportunity to celebrate the individual achievements of Deaf people from all over Queensland, and brought the community together to share in their unique perspective.

Running for two days in Woolloongabba, Brisbane, the Art Show included a VIP awards night for Deaf Services Members, Artists, and their families. At the VIP night, the diverse judging panel awarded Cynthia Blackmore the first prize of $1,500 provided by The Deaf Lottery. In addition, Ian Milton and Patrick Phillips received second and third place respectively.

Deaf Services would like to thank our sponsors, The Deaf Lottery and Brisbane City Council for their support of the event, and would to thank all our artists and judges for their participation.

An interview with our winner, Cynthia Blackmore is available on our website.
